I didn't cry as much in 2024!

24 Lessons Learned and more...

As 2024 comes to a close, I’ve been reflecting on the unexpected lessons this year brought me. From big wins to tough challenges, here are 24 takeaways that shaped me:

1. Rest isn’t a luxury; it’s a necessity.

2. Boundaries are acts of love—for yourself and others.

3. Gratitude journaling really works for shifting perspective and decreasing anxiety.

4. Asking for help is brave, not weak especially if you’re a therapist…it’s considered part of your “training”.

5. Connection requires intentionality not just a like or comment on social media.

6. Healing is nonlinear and messy but worth it because liking yourself is the greatest gift.

7. Trying something new can be a form of self-care even if you don’t end up liking it.

8. Slowing down often speeds up clarity.

9. Nature is medicine.

10. The answers you seek are usually within you.

11. Growth happens in discomfort.

12. Play matters—even for adults.

13. Vulnerability is magnetic, especially when shared with your partner.

14. Small joys are big joys.

15. Anger can be transformative when expressed healthily.

16. Hormone health impacts everything. Oh and learn to work with your cycle not against it.

17. Community is essential for healing. We need each other.

18. Letting go of perfectionism is liberating. Perfect is boring.

19. Movement moves stuck emotions.

20. Love expands when you nurture it.

21. Saying “no” makes space for your best “yes.”

22. It’s okay to pivot your plans; in fact some of the best stuff happens when you do.

23. Restoring relationships starts with accountability.

24. Being present is the greatest gift you can give.

Looking ahead to 2025, I’m setting my sights on what I want to embrace, create, and experience. Here are 25 intentions I’m bringing into the new year:

1. Start each morning with gratitude and movement.

2. Deepen my meditation practice.

3. Prioritize sleep and hydration.

4. Take more weekend getaways with family.

5. Say “no” to what & who drains my energy.

6. Grow my business with aligned opportunities and people that value my work.

7. Experiment with new creative outlets and paint more.

8. Learn a new skill and deepen my skill in psychedelic somatic therapy.

9. Travel to one new place… I got my sight set on you Victoria, British Colombia.

10. Spend more time outdoors and hike more.

11. Take a class just for fun.

12. Read more fiction.

13. Write letters to loved ones.

14. Show up consistently for my community and continue to advocate for common sense gun laws.

15. Set tech-free time each evening and just put my phone down more in general.

16. Plan a romantic getaway with my partner hopefully to Nashville to meet up with friends and or New York in the Spring!

17. Create more healing spaces for others. Stay tuned for my group wellness practice that I’m opening up in 2025!

18. Celebrate small milestones.

19. Cook a new recipe each month. This is funny because I don’t cook but I want to learn.

20. Support local businesses.

21. Volunteer for a cause I care about. You’ll find me lobbying on Capital Hill with March Fourth again in 2025 to reinstate the federal assault weapons ban.

22. Simplify my home and routines.

23. Laugh daily.

24. Invest in personal and professional growth. I’ll be investing a lot of my time and money into becoming a certified Psychedelic Somatic Interactional Psychotherapist in 2025.

25. Trust the unfolding of life.

I hope you are inspired by all you have done and gone through as we turn the page to a new year.
